I wish it vanished from Netflix too.

Ever felt like you sit down for a good film, probably of emotional highs, because the synopsis says, “When his children are kidnapped while sleeping, a father embarks on a heart-skipping race against time along the Mediterranean coast to save them”?

As a parent, these kinds of films are a must-watch for me. Just equipping myself to think outside the box and be prepared for anything. I know, you just judged me, but dude, I am a movie buff! I even have background scores playing behind me, which only I can hear. 😊

So, this movie is nothing but "khaya-peeya kuch nahi, glass thoda bara aana." I'm just going to write the story here. I won't even give you a spoiler alert because if you watch the film, your mood will be spoiled. Consider this your alert.

There’s a couple, Pietro and Elena, on the verge of a divorce. Conversations between their lawyers reveal that Pietro invested in a farm and is now heavily in debt due to renovations. He confirms this was the couple’s dream project, and now that Elena wants a divorce, the debt is on his shoulders. They have two kids, a daughter Bianca and a son Giovanni.

Pietro has a boat he takes out to sea occasionally for a dive with the family. One night, when it was Pietro’s turn to spend time with kids, they disappear from their bed. Elena blames him and then suggests that he goes to his buddy to get the £150,000 ransom. Pietro suspects the people who lent him money for the farm renovation. His buddy Nico agrees to give him the money only if he smuggles drugs across an island.

After some suspense (which got boring), Pietro goes to Nico, drops the drugs, takes the money, and picks up his wife to make the ransom drop. But the kids are already home with her. Elena pretends Pietro is high or drunk and talking nonsense, claiming the kids were with her all along. When questioned by Pietro, the kids pretend not to understand how they ended up at their mom's place.

It turns out Elena wanted to go back to New York and put Pietro in a fix to get incriminating evidence on him. She kidnapped her own children by drugging them and made Pietro do the dirty work, recording his conversations so he would sign release papers and not fight for custody.

Pietro figures it out, catches her at the airport, and says, “I know what you did. If you don’t want me to complain, leave for New York alone, and the kids will stay with me.” The film ends with Pietro having enough money to pay off his debt, his kids with him, and his wife returning from the airport.

Overall, I felt sorry for the kids. Their dad was busy selling drugs, and their mother was drugging them to kidnap them. The kids had no clue what was happening between their parents!

So, since I tortured myself over a couple of days finishing this movie, YOU SHOULD NOT BOTHER WATCHING IT AT ALL. When movies can't hold my interest, I still finish watching them, but in parts over several days.
