For almost a week or so I was absconding from writing or doing anything creative. And I have nothing but the series New Amsterdam to blame for it.
I enjoyed watching Doctor House and I wasn’t expecting this to hook me from the first episode itself but it did and how. I was watching the series even while commuting (don’t worry I DO NOT DRIVE- for Public Safety)
This is 2018 series and yes, as of now there are only 2 seasons available on Netflix I am hoping they will add the next and the next and the next as well.
For Indians, you have Anupam Kher as Dr. Veeeeejay Kapoor as everyone calls him. And he does a splendid job. I don’t even want to find out the casts actual name they are all doctors to me. Dr. Maximus ‘Max’ Goodwin, Dr. Helen Sharpe, Dr. Ignatius ‘Iggy’ Frome, Dr. Lauren Bloom, Dr. Floyd Reynolds and more.
Every episode ends in a way that you stay hooked to watch the next. There is drama, blood, emotion, blood, ailments, blood, fun, blood, intelligence, blood. Actually, pretty much it covers everything but be prepared to watch an open-heart surgery and blood oozing out of anything, anytime, and anywhere. But one thing for sure… you will be saved or you will die only after the doctors have died trying to save you. There is hope all over the series and hope is always a good thing for humans. Post this, I believed that doctors can actually save you. Too bad for all the films I will be watching post this because I am half a doc now and I will diagnose you and save you in my head before you hit the ground.
Okay, that may not happen. But if you like to get into a heart-rush and you like the highs coming with the lows... then watch it. I binge watched the series, but you can perhaps watch 2 episode a day or 1 😊 each Ep is 40+ minutes so you will need time to be with them and feel the characters and their emotions.
I enjoyed it thoroughly and can’t wait for the next season to be added.
I actually love Netflix for the series more than the films.
