I made an Attempt to listen to the latest album release by Taylor Swift – MIDNIGHTS… twice! But I am sorry to say I still could not figure out WHY and HOW did TEN songs from this album make it as the TOP 10 songs on the recent BILLBOARD charts.
No doubt it goes deep with lyrics, goes personal, is as opinionated as possible but it still doesn’t get me. On the contrary, around the hype of the newly released Kannada film – Kantara (which I am yet to watch) I thought of listening to the album and my-oh-my! It had me at the first song itself. Ofcourse my favourite like for many others is the REBEL song.
I love the way South Films are going. Not caring about repercussions or fame or whether they will hit the 100-crore club. They make films, tell a story and let the audience take over. I happened to watch Rishabh’s Shetty the actor-director’s interview with Bollywood Bubble. I must say the host, the research around the film, the knowledge he showcased and the warmth he showed to this south actor was commendable. Rishabh Shetty was a breath of fresh air. He was like any one of us. The way he seated himself the way he spoke, dressed and even his belief system of making films.
Hmm, with the rise of South Cinema are we then watching the death of Bollywood which is now laced with only one idea-one theme but divided MUTE INDA? Or are we now simply an industry which will indulge in South Remakes?
Ofcourse Bollywood has some of the best makers but if you want to see them you have to go to the OTT platforms. Scared of the scissor board this is where they have found their new home. But that will only be till the scissors get there as well for good. It’s okay, breathe while your head is above water. And don’t worry I enjoy your content there.
As for you Taylor, you haven’t stitched the music well for me this time (sorry for that cheesy joke) infact you made me think BTS had better songs ☹ I believe I just need to Shake this album off me. 😊
