Don't watch this if you haven't seen Drishyam. If you haven't watched it, this film won't make much sense to you.
I must admit, at first, I complained about how long it took for this movie to start its story—it was literally crawling. But then I realized that my impatience stemmed from comparing it to its prequel. A sequel doesn't need to be fast-paced because the foundation was already laid in the first film; now, it's all about exploring where we go from here.
My best guess is that the climax of the film was written first because it was simply airtight. Any simple deviation could make it all fall flat. However, the beginning and middle could have benefited from some scenes being trimmed or sped up. Some scenes felt like they were wasting the audience's precious time. Too much buildup can sometimes be too distracting.
But either way, you CANNOT miss this film. First, watch its prequel.
